The Lost Art of Good Conversation

This week we watched part of a video featuring Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, the author of The Lost Art of Good Conversation, and head of the Shambhala organization. In this video, the Sakyong explores how conversations shape us and those we meet. He observes:

When I was driving here to Denver...this is amazing, this is all made by people. The sidewalks, the buildings, the restaurants, everything. It was created from our mind, created from our effort...We, as people, made it. In the same way, we are building things in our mind, we are building things in our heart. What kind of things are we creating? This is a very important time, about how are we creating our own psychology, our own sort of attitude. And a very important element of that is...human dialogue.

Changing the world seems like a tall order, but taking a more fresh, open approach to our next conversation is quite possible - and creates a new and different "culture of two" for that moment.
